Completing the final portion of our Mountain Top Removal, we come to report week. The process started with editing the raster we created in the previous week. The raster was converted to a polygon and created a shapefile with the following criteria:
- Areas no smaller than 40 acres.
- Removed areas within 50 meters of roads and rivers.
- Removed areas within 400 meters of rivers and highways.
- Include areas that intersect with mountain ridges.
The polygon was checked for accuracy by generating 30 random points and visually comparing.
