Lab 09 (GIS 4048- Applications in GIS)

Here comes the last lab before the final. This assignment involved two different GIS scenarios.

With the first, we were working with the Marion County Property Appraiser and our client Mr. Zuko. Our task was to create a Map Book and Parcel Report with information regarding the adjacent parcels, zoning, and property owner data.

Utilizing the Data Driven Page tools within ArcMap, we were able to create a single PDF that outlined the requested information through a series of page. The locator map will reference what is on the current page and through an Index Map, which allow the user to know what page they're on. A report was also created, listing the information requested of the Map Key, parcel ID's, owner names, address, zoning code, and parcel acreage.

The second assignment involved working with the Gulf County Property Appraiser along with the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) in locating a new extension office. This needed to be limited to land owned by the BOCC. Once the owned land had been found, they were merged into one parcel. From here, the parcel was cut to the legal description provided. The parcels were further narrowed down to the fit the criteria of county owned, 20 acres or larger, and vacant. A report was also created with the criteria findings.
